The Acura ILX was introduced in 2012 as a compact executive car that is derived from the ninth generation Civic Sedan. The ILX replaces the Acura CSX which was only sold in Canada. The ILX was the first compact model in the United States since the RSX was discontinued in 2006 and was Acura’s first gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle.
